Quiz Night a great time
Friday the 9th August saw 24 teams of 4 join in the fun at the Quiz Night hosted by the F Grade teams travelling to Whakatane for Super Champs.
Vern Garrett was the MC and he did a fantastic job of keeping the large crowd entertained by asking some challenging questions put together by Terry Powell.
The four rounds resulted in a draw with 5 teams tied on the same points, so a quick fire round of questions soon sorted out the eventual winners.
Congratulations to team 21 Junp Street for winning this years event.
An auction ended the quiz night, with some great things kindly donated up for grabs.
A big Thank you to everyone for supporting the event.
Below are some pictures taken through out the night.

Tararua F Grade Girls off to National Super Champs in Whakatane!!!
Weeks of hard training has paid off for the F Grade Womens Team, they had a nail biting final against Ohakune on Saturday afternoon to take the Central District F Grade title.
Games were locked at 2 all, and it was up to youngster Rachel Vincent to take the court for the decider. Rachel kept her cool and played some awesome squash, winning in 4 sets.
The F Grade Mens team had an intense final as well, this also tied at two all against the Ohakune Mens Team. Jason fought hard and played some fantastic squash in the deciding match, but lost 14/16 in the fifth.(with a stroke called on the last point). It was a hard way to finish a match played in such great spirit.
Now the girls have 2 months of extra training and fitness, before heading to Whakatane in August to compete in the National Super Champs against the rest of New Zealand's District F Grade Finalists.
The girls are all busy fundraising to get to the Nationals, so if you have any fundraising opportunities, please see one of the team.
